They're itching to leave the sequins of the Children's Place behind, but aren't nearly ready to slip into Bebe's short designs. "Great concept, great service, great products" gush groupies hooked on this Uptown pair, which stays wired into the latest tween "trends" by running frequent focus groups with local kids; girls go to town rifling through the racks of "cute" Monkey Wear party frocks, 7 for All Mankind jeans and "super-soft cotton" tees from labels like Splendid and Lemon, while their purse string-holding parents appreciate the "no-pressure" approach of the "sweet salesgirls." Tween-friendly to the nth degree, this "so-cool-to-shop" West 70s boutique and new East 70s sidekick outifts trendy girls from head to toe; stacks of kicky T-shirts are flanked by racks of funky togs from labels like Monkey Wear, Ralph Lauren, Riley and Tussuto, with novelty handbags, barrettes and accessories stashed on the shelves above.
